A violent rapist tied his victim up and slashed her with a knife. Bo Yang, 41, attacked the woman in her own home in Burnley earlier this year.

Following a disagreement, he took a knife from his pocket, forced the victim next to a bed and used the blade to tear her clothes. Yang then beat her with a metal bar before raping and sexually assaulted her.

He took tape and rope and tape from his bag and tied his victim up before slashing at her with his knife. Yang took the woman’s bank cards and money and used facial recognition on her phone in an attempt to transfer money into his account.

The five-hour ordeal ended when the victim managed to run from the property when he turned his back. Neighbours rang the police.

Yang was identified following CCTV and forensic enquiries. Fingerprints were recovered from tape he put around the woman’s face.

Yang, of Winn Grove, Sheffield, was arrested and charged with two counts of rape; sexual assault; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; robbery; and possession of a bladed article.

Following a trial at Preston Crown Court, Yang was found guilty on all counts. He was remanded into custody and will be sentenced on February 6.

DC Jodie Nolan, from Burnley’s Rape And Serious Sexual Offence Team, said: “Yang is an extremely violent sexual predator who exposed his victim to a sustained and horrific ordeal.”
