Student sexually assaulted woman while she was celebrating her 18th birthday in Preston
Christopher Ugwu, 22 an overseas student was sentenced to five months imprisonment for sexual assault after groping a woman in a secluded alleyway in September 2024. He was studying at the University of Central Lancashire when he attacked the woman who he had met through a dating website. The court was told that he had already served five months on remand but would remain in the custody of the Immigration Service after it was revealed his student visa had expired and his application for asylum had still to be considered.
