A man living in a migrant hotel in Manchester has been accused of sexual assault on a woman. Tadi Alemeyeha appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he pleaded not guilty to the offence committed earlier this month. Alemeyeha lives in the Britannia Country House Hotel in south Manchester.
It is understood that the accused is seeking asylum in the UK. The 22-year-old followed court proceedings with the aid of an interpreter of Amharic – a language spoken in Ethiopia. Alemeyeha had his bail application refused by magistrates and was remanded into custody. The asylum seeker is set to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on September 11.
