Child rapist jailed for ‘atrocious offences’
A rapist has been sentenced to life in prison after attacking a boy in Slough.
Mohammed Qabri Anis Younas, also known as Mohammed Qabri Anis, of Granville Avenue, pleaded guilty on January 3 to two charges of rape.
The assaults took place on the boy, who was under 13, in January and November last year.
The 41-year-old was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday and will be required to serve at least six years of his prison term.
Detective Inspector Andy Howard, from the child abuse investigation unit said: “Mohammed Younas committed atrocious offences on a young boy. He was in a position of significant trust, but breached that trust in the most appalling way imaginable and he is quite rightly now facing a significant prison sentence.
“The boy and his family are understandably struggling to come to terms with what has happened and appropriate support has been put in place for them to try and help them to deal with this horrific situation.”
A police investigation has revealed Younas had strong links to the Slough area for the last five years.
During that time he has been employed in Slough and possibly surrounding areas on a private basis.
Det Insp Howard thanked the victim and his family for their courage and is now appealing for any parents who have previously employed Younas to contact police.
